In the seventies, Japanese engineers came to Kolyma to test new technological solutions in a harsh climate. Komatsu's technique was supposed to work at -50C and high humidity - the Baikal-Amur highway was then being built in the Far East, and gold mining was actively developing.
According to the test results, the plant in Japan improved bulldozers and other equipment for the largest construction and mining projects of the USSR. For example, pipe builders worked on the construction of Soyuz, ESPO and Power of Siberia gas pipelines, dump trucks — on coal mining in Kuzbass, excavators — on many projects in all regions of the country.
Today, Komatsu technology is state-of-the-art technology, materials and the highest safety standards.
